What is the latest New Light?

please bear with me here.

it's been some time since i accessed the forum and 8 years since i really read any of the wts pubs or attended any meetings.

so, in a nutshell, if someone will indulge me, what's the latest twists the wts has come up with on their doctrines, teachings, etc?.

The latest doctrine that supersedes all others and is the only teaching that must to be focused on and preached is:

All your spare money belongs to the Watchtower Society. It must be surrendered without delay as they are short of funds due to the loss of revenue from the sale of publications. This was caused by them having to stop charging for literature in order to keep their charity status.

i find the notion that we inheirited sin through adam and eve to be a quaint, silly notion.

if you believe in the power of god, why would god create such a flawed creation?

few people believe the stories in genesis.

When I said "n o one seriously believes..." I was hinting at the interesting defensive ability the mind has to believe something at one level while knowing deep down that it is implausible. I believe it is called cognitive dissidence. My apologies if you do seriously believe the story to be real.

This rotten apple has been done to death.

No one seriously believes the - I don’t Adam & Eve it - story to be literal. Scholars can’t agree on whether it was written by Moses. As he wasn’t even born at the time these events were supposed to have taken place, place it seems likely that the whole thing was plundered from existing mythology. If you really want to know what happened - track down the original serpent the one called Satan and get him to fess up.

Does the Bible contradict itself?

THE BIBLE is a collection of 66 books one of them only 2 pages long. They were selected from many manuscripts many of which were rejected as unsuitable. It has been retranslated, edited and manipulated to a point where most Christians have ceased to defend its authenticity or even recognize it as the word of ‘God.’ It is an unreliable and flawed source of reference.

Of course it contradicts itself as does all legend and mysticism and all attempts to fabricate truth. Truth is to be found in nature which never contradicts itself. It never lies or attempts to explains itself, it simply is reality.

The idea that we are condemned is part of legend and fable.

We die of old age like every living creature and plant on the planet. Such is the cycle of life.

Celestial chariot or broken down cart? Judging the agility of the organization...

i've just uploaded an "end of year" article to my blog.

in my article i explain how 2012 has taught me something i didn't know previously about the watch tower society - that it is painfully slow at responding to important developments.. i cite examples of three recent developments where the society has been slow to respond, or get word out.... the candace conti verdict - media blackout for six days following the judgmentthe appointment of mark sanderson - no official confirmation for months after the appointment was announced at morning worshipthe "new light" on the faithful slave - over a month before officially confirmed on jw.org, and a further month before the information was available in other languagesi then go on to look at the recent video about the watchtower sign and make the argument that, far from being comparable with a lightning-fast celestial chariot, the society has grown slow and cumbersome in responding to developments because it is essentially in love with itself - as per the greek mythological character narcissus.. anyway, take a look at the article when you get a moment, and let me know what you think!.
